The Textiles, Clothing and Footwear Industry Reference Committee (IRC) is responsible for the MST Textiles, Clothing and Footwear Training Package. The Committee oversees the development of industry competency skills standards and qualifications in the Textiles, Clothing and Footwear Industries.

We’d like to introduce you to our Textiles, Clothing and Footwear IRC Members.

Leon Drury – CHAIR
Executive Officer, NSW Manufacturing Industry Training Advisory Body (MSA NSW ITAB)

Leon’s role as the NSW ITAB is to work with NSW manufacturing companies to facilitate skills and workforce development, provide advice on strategies to recruit and retain skilled workers, and advise the NSW Government on the current and future workforce needs for the NSW manufacturing sector. Leon also liaises with his counterparts in other sectors and states to support an industry wide viewpoint.


Kerryn Wollington – DEPUTY CHAIR
Training and Development Manager, Laundry Dry Cleaning Training (LDCT)

Kerryn delivers education and training to the laundry and dry cleaning industry on basic practices, environmental laws, sustainability and production flow. Kerryn has an extensive background in the textile care industry, and has over 30 years’ experience in the valet, dry cleaning and laundry sectors.


Alison Bradshaw
Designer and Product Developer, Indigo Leaf

Alison Bradshaw is the owner of Indigo Leaf, providing design and product development services for Noni B Group, Iconic, David Jones private label and Postie Fashions. Alison is a passionate designer and product developer for the Australian fashion industry, and teaches at TAFE NSW Ultimo campus, St George TAFE and Orana Fashion School.


Meriel Chamberlin
Partner – Textiles and Performance, Apparel and Textile Industry Group (ATI)

As a partner at ATI Group, Meriel works with organisations, industry and government to develop high quality products and supply capability with innovative, efficient and sustainable supply chains.  Meriel is also a passionate advocate for closed loop and responsible production of fabrics and yarns which she practices through her own business, Full Circle Fibres.

Meriel has 18 years international experience in the Textile and Apparel Industries, spanning multiple roles including Ethical Supply Chain and Quality Management across 4 continents.


John Condilis
Managing Director, Nobody Denim

John is the Managing Director of Nobody Denim, and is passionate about growing & re-establishing the high value add clothing manufacturing industry in Australia. John is also the Co-Chair of the newly created Australian Fashion Council, formed from the merger of the Australian Fashion Chamber and the Council of Textile and Fashion.


Ana Drougas
Executive Officer, Specialised Textiles Association (STA)

Ana is the Executive Officer of the Specialised Textiles Association, the national industry association for Australia’s leading textile fabricators and suppliers. STA represents fabricators, installers and suppliers of textiles, equipment, accessories and services in the specialised textiles industry and works collaboratively to facilitate the development, interests, and relevance of this industry sector and their members.

Ana has provided industry leadership for over a decade through many initiatives including: the founding member and Chair of FITAG (Furnishing Industry Training Advisory Group), STA’s Young Leaders Network, participation on STA committees for training and education, marine fabrication, fabric structures and Women in Textiles.


Kay Gerard
Chief Executive Officer, Food, Fibre & Timber Industries Training Council (WA) (FFTITC)

As FFTITC CEO, Kay’s main role is to lead and support skill and workforce development in the Food Fibre & Timber Industries, providing advice to Government on behalf of industry, and to ensure all nationally recognised training programs and packages reflect the current and future needs of industry.  Kay has worked in the VET sector for over 19 years with a business and industry development focus.


Millie Gilbert
CEO, Millie Gilbert Design Services

Millicent Gilbert is the owner and brand founder of Millie Gilbert Design Services.  She is a qualified and highly experienced educator, facilitator and co-ordinator with extensive experience including product design and development, marketing and sales, fashion business management.  She is also a committed industry educator, demonstrated through her various teaching roles at Whitehouse Institute of Design and NSW TAFE Ultimo.


Hilde Heim
Trainer and Education Program Manager – Fashion Design, Australian Institute of Creative Design (RTO)

Hilde is an experienced fashion designer, skilled in marketing and advertising, fashion illustration, small business management, and couture design including her own Designer Bridal Couture business. She also delivers fashion design modules for the Advanced Diploma qualifications in Fashion Design and Fashion Business.


Jenny Kruschel
TCF National Secretary – Manufacturing Division, CFMEU

The CFMEU is the union that covers workers in all Textiles, Clothing and Footwear industries. Jenny Kruschel represents a wide range of union members who work across the textile, clothing, footwear industries and  has over 20 years’ experience working in textile and clothing factories and a further 20 years’ experience organising in Textiles, Clothing and Footwear workplaces.

Jenny also holds a committee position on Ethical Clothing Australia (ECA), which is a not for profit  joint industry and union initiative that embraces a multi-stakeholder approach and works towards a more transparent industry whereby supply chain management is the Textiles, Clothing and Footwear industry standard.
