October 2019: Update
The Furnishing Industry Reference Committee (IRC) will be meeting in mid-October 2019, after which the 2019 Industry Skills Forecast and Proposed Schedule of Work will be submitted to the AISC for approval.
April 2019: Update
The Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) is currently reviewing the structure of the Furnishing Industry Reference Committee (IRC) to ensure appropriate sector representation. In the meantime, the development of the 2019 Furnishing Industry Skills Forecast and Proposed Schedule of Work is on hold. Read more
October 2018: Update
IBSA Manufacturing are undertaking a broad range of consultations within the Furnishing Industry. The outcomes of these consultations will be used to inform the 2019 Industry Skills Forecast and Proposed Schedule of Work.
Examples of consultations conducted by IBSA Manufacturing to date, include:
Blinds, Awnings, Security Screens and Grilles
IBSA Manufacturing conducted a number of consultations to support the Blinds, Awnings, Security Screens and Grilles Project. Participants were also asked to identify emerging priorities and skills needs to feed into the annual Skills Forecast submission.
State Industry Training Advisory Bodies (ITABs)
IBSA Manufacturing are scheduled to meet with the Queensland ITAB in November, to identify emerging priorities and skills needs to feed in the annual Industry Skills Forecast submission. Consultations with other State ITABS are also being organised.
