IBSA Manufacturing is pleased to support the Sustainability Industry Reference Committee (IRC) to undertake the Corporate Social Responsibility Project.
The Sustainability IRC identified that identified there was a need to further extend skills for Sustainability job roles to consider the increasing importance and focus by organisations to meet ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ (CSR) expectations including adherence to national and international standards, and striving to achieve goals consistent with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals including carbon, energy and greenhouse gas reduction. The work will involve:
- A review of 34 key existing associated units of competency
- The development of a new unit of competency – Interpreting and applying standards relating to Corporate Social Responsibility
- The development of CSR focused skill set

It is anticipated that this project will be completed by February 2019.
IBSA Manufacturing, in consultation with the Sustainability IRC, will establish a technical advisory committee (TAC) to provide specific subject matter advice and technical expertise for the development and review of the training package components.
The TAC operates under the direction of the IRC and will comprise of organisations and nominated individuals with significant expertise and knowledge working within the industry.
Methodology and Timelines
This project follows the Training Package Development and Endorsement Process Policy and uses the IBSA Manufacturing Training Package Development Methodology. This process provides robust evidence to support the Australian Industry Skills Committee’s (AISC) decision making process.
