The AISC approved the following two Cases for Endorsement which will enable new training package components to be available for industry shortly.

The approval is subject to the IRC updating the unit codes for all units requiring endorsement.

Aerospace (MEA) Training Package  – to provide closer alignment of the Certificate IV in Aeronautical Life Support with the needs of the Australian Defence Force. A further 4 qualifications and 5 units have been aligned with CASA compliance requirements. Units in the Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering qualifications have been reviewed in line with 2012 Standards. More information

Laboratory Operations (MSL) Training Package – new units and a Skills Set related to histotechnology were developed. The units allow for the inclusion of specialist skills in the Certificate IV Laboratory Techniques and the Diploma of Laboratory Technology. Further work includes grouping and identifying units into specialisations for Pathology, Chemistry, Construction, Food and Biotechnology. More information

The AISC requested additional revisions to the following training package to ensure it complies with the Standards for Training Packages:

Metals and Engineering (MEM) Training Package  – includes 18 qualifications and 449 units. This release removes a small number of duplicate units, provides information on industry expectations of training delivery and supports individuals to move easily between related occupations. The final stage, Release 3, of this transition will be completed in September 2018. More information
