COVID-19 is at a challenging juncture for so many. At IBSA, we also recognise that the pandemic also represents a tough and testing time for our training and education sector and the industries they support. We have adapted our operational arrangements to ensure business continuity, and we are supporting the COVID-19 response through Australian Training Products and our Skills Service Organisation activities.
Australian Training Products have been helping businesses to set-up their online capabilities for eLearning solutions and we will soon launch the next suite of professional development products in IBSA Academy.
We are also proudly supporting the Victorian Government’s recent initiative, Working for Victoria, which is aimed at assisting people who have lost their jobs due to the economic impacts of coronavirus (COVID-19), to find new work opportunities. Free short online training is being made available for impacted workers registered with Working for Victoria to reskill and seek employment in alternative industries. We see the Victorian Government’s commitment to supporting our economy and workers as a key step in enabling businesses to survive and thrive over the weeks and months ahead.
Our Skills Service Organisation, IBSA Manufacturing, is working closely with our Industry Reference Committees and networks to gather intelligence on the impact of COVID-19 on the manufacturing sector. This is being used to identify training solutions and options for occupations that are needed now and forecast upcoming surge capacity requirements.
We are thinking laterally of how we can not only support the recovery of Australia’s economy, but also support and strengthen Australian businesses. We believe our eLearning experience and understanding of industry trends and the critical skills needed will be essential in enabling Government and the VET sector to shape their response to the shortages and issues that arise from COVID-19.
This crisis has certainly highlighted our need to collaborate, and we encourage you to reach out and connect with us – the IBSA Group and the ATP team are on-hand to help you find the best way forward.
